Holiday Treats for Good Eats

E-Mealz, orange butter, butter

Instead of reaching for your everyday margarine, try orange butter for a change. It is a delicious spread for your favorite bread treats. It can be used on toast, muffins, hot rolls or even waffles and pancakes. My mother-in-law shared this recipe when I called her years ago to ask for a gift idea for my children’s teachers. It is a family favorite in our home and is looked forward to all year. It makes a great gift for everyone to enjoy around the holidays. Happy Churning!

Orange Butter

Ingredients:

1/2 cup softened butter

1 tbsp orange juice

1 tsp grated orange peel

Preparation:

Combine butter, orange juice, and orange peel; blend well. Butter can be stored in the refrigerator indefinitely. Yields ½ Cup.

Baby food jars are the perfect size to store the butter in.  I like to pick out holiday fabric and cover my tops and tie a ribbon around the jar.  Just adds that special touch to a yummy gift!
