My #1 Pick E-Mealz Recipe

People often ask what is my favorite E-Mealz recipe. I have been writing E-Mealz menus since 2003 so the rolodex in my brain is quite large. After 8 years, 30 menu options, and 10,000 plus menus, E-Mealz is an amazing vault of collected recipes from real moms, real dads, real families. Recently I looked back through the archives of menus on my dinosaur computer and there is one recipe that has recycled over and over for one simple reason – my family loves it! It never fails, when my kids ask “What’s for dinner?” and I respond “French Dip Sandwiches”, there’s a unanimous “yummmm”.

If you have been an E-Mealz veteran you will recognize this recipe. If you have never come on board the E-Mealz train then step on and let this no-fuss recipe be a peek inside. Simplicity and ease made delicious!

French Dip Sandwiches

1 lb boneless round roast, trimmed

1 envelope onion soup mix

1 can beef broth

1 whole loaf bakery French bread

8 oz shredded mozzarella

Combine beef broth and onion soup mix in crock-pot. Add roast. Cook on low 6 hrs. Remove roast to shred. Slice French bread in half, lengthwise. Layer beef, then cheese. Close; cover w/ foil. Heat @375, 25 min.  Slice & serve w/ small bowls of remaining  broth for dipping.

Other favorites of my family are Swiss Chicken, Cobb Pitas, and Mexican Casserole. All E-Mealz menus are laced with these recipes and more! Go to http://emeals.com/options.shtml, pick a plan, and let the rolodex begin!

I LOVE French Dip sandwiches! They are awesome. I was just checking out e-meals to see if they had options for larger families as I have 8 kids- decisions, decisions! I know get one and just double everything. My kids also enjoy the homemade mini french bread buns I make.

Vickie, I would just double the family for four recipes. Good luck! :)

Ingredient list says round steak and directions says roast. Aren’t those two different things? I’d love to try this but want to use the right meat.

I’ve made this one for my family (been e-mealing for about a year). I have a picky crew and I had my concerns for this one, but everyone just gobbled it up! It was so yummy and so easy!! I’m thinking next time I’ll throw in some grated carrots too, always good to get in an extra veggie :)

LOVE French Dips! And this recipe looks super easy.

I have to say, I’ve subscribed to E-Mealz for about 2 months now, and I’m loving it. I’m a total novice at cooking — I used to say that my idea of cooking was either the microwave or a small pot of soup on the stove, nothing more complicated than that. But every recipe I’ve tried from you guys has been something I could totally handle — even Bob’s Famous Tilapia, which even my finicky dad (age 73) loved. Dad is trying more and more of my meals, and he usually likes them.

Now if I could only get my finicky nephew (age 19) to try some of them…
