Hot Weather and Popsicles…Its Summertime!

E-MealzIt is summertime at the Langer House and one staple we always have to keep us cool is homemade popsicles!  During the hot Alabama summers, you can walk up to our home throughout the day and kids are crowded around cooling off with these sweet treats. Making them is almost as fun as eating them.  We work hard at being just as creative with the designs as we do the flavors.  When you make homemade popsicles, you will need non-toxic molds that are reusable and dishwasher safe or you can use a small paper cup with a wooden craft stick.  If you are using cups and sticks, don’t forget to place wax paper over your cups before placing your stick in.   Remember when looking for non-toxic molds, they should be made out of silicone or state that it is a non-toxic product.  I recommend Tovolo Molds because they have a snap in base to hold them upright in the freezer and come off easily after you run them under hot water.   You can order these molds from Amazon.com.  You can also find other popsicle molds at your local grocery or arts and craft stores such as Wal-mart or Michaels.  It’s a fun family past time for everyone to enjoy during these long summer days. Here some easy recipes for you and your family to enjoy!
