Back to School Healthy Lunch Recipe: PB&J Banana Dogs

Peanut Butter and Jelly Banana Lunch Kid FriendlyAdd a little fun to your child’s lunchbox with this new spin on the classic peanut butter and jelly sandwich.

Everything is not always as it seems, and this bun is not holding it’s usual hot dog. Instead of ketchup and mustard, spread some peanut butter and strawberry jelly, and fill your bun with a banana, which is conveniently the perfect size and shape, and you’ve got a creative take on the same ‘ole PB&J.

Back to School Healthy Lunch Recipe: PB&J Banana Dogs
 
Ingredients
  • ½ cup natural peanut or almond butter
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • ¼ cup strawberry jam or jelly
  • 4 small bananas
Instructions
  1. Spread 2 tablespoons nut butter inside each hot dog bun.
  2. Place 1 banana inside each bun, and top with jam.
  3. Wrap in plastic wrap.
