These chocolate- and candy-coated marshmallows add a special treat to any holiday party. Best of all, they’re quick, easy, and you probably already have the ingredients in your pantry.
- Microwave chocolate chips in a glass bowl on HIGH 1 to 2 minutes, stirring every 30 seconds, until melted and smooth.
- Dip the end of a marshmallow in chocolate, and then dip in colored sugar or crushed candies. Let stand at least 1 minute. Repeat with remaining marshmallows.
- Gently thread dipped marshmallows onto bamboo skewers.
Use whatever chocolate chips, baking chocolate, or chocolate-flavored candy coating you have on hand.
We used red and green colored sugar and crushed peppermint candies for our snowmen, but feel free to use Christmas sprinkles or jimmies, flaked coconut, or whatever other toppings you like.
Use the marshmallow snowmen to create a Hot Chocolate Bar for your next Christmas party or for a fun family treat while watching Christmas movies or decorating your tree.
How to Make Your Own Hot Chocolate Bar
Prepare a carafe of hot chocolate (use a mix for a super-simple option), and make Chocolate-Dipped Marshmallow Snowmen.
Set out mugs, marshmallow snowmen, and additional marshmallows, and let everyone create their own hot chocolate creation. Keep it simple, or add additional topping options, like whipped cream, biscotti or other cookies.
