I love eMeals! Let me tell you why. One of my resolutions this year was to be better about cooking dinner each evening for my family. I had gotten into a terrible habit of failing to plan what to cook each evening. Then I would wait until the last minute, realize it was almost time for dinner, and have to scrounge around looking for something for all of us to eat. My poor husband never complained (which made me feel even worse about it), but I know it must have been disappointing to get home from work hungry and realize there wasn’t anything ready for dinner!
The first thing I did to prepare for keeping my resolution was subscribe to eMeals. I had heard about eMeals before, so I went to the website to take a closer look and see what they have to offer. There are so many plans to choose from! I was really surprised at all of the plans available for everyone from those who eat gluten-free to folks who want classic meals to those who eat organic foods. They even have a breakfast plan and a lunch plan now! Since I’m a stay-at-home, work-from-home, homeschooling mom, I’m responsible for feeding myself and my children all 3 meals a day, so I was thrilled that they added breakfast and lunch plans!
Another thing I love is that I save money on groceries. Instead of going to the grocery store with a vague idea of what I need to buy and ending up buying waaaay too many convenience foods or other things that I don’t really need, I just take the grocery list that comes with my meal plans each week. That way I know exactly what I need to buy. I also know how much of each item I need to buy. I had no idea how much money I had been wasting each week at the grocery store!
I have tried out several different plans (Subscribers can change plans once a month if they want to.), and the truth is that I’ve enjoyed them all. I also subscribe to the breakfast and lunch plans. My kiddos love breakfast foods almost any time, so we sometimes even have one of the breakfast menus for dinner.
There are occasionally meals on our plan for the week that I just don’t think the children would enjoy, so I simply skip those meals and make one that we’ve enjoyed from a previous menu. Since the grocery list gives ingredients per meal instead of per week, it’s easy to leave out a meal if there’s one I choose not to make.
We have branched out a bit since I began using eMeals. I had gotten into a habit of making the same meals week after week after week, and we were all getting tired of them. My kiddos don’t normally like to try new foods, but they have enjoyed most of these! And my husband is definitely happy that we have a little more variety now.
I forgot to mention that one of my favorite things about eMeals is that they even have plans according to the grocery store where you like to shop! That makes it so convenient to estimate how much money I will spend each week for groceries.
If you haven’t given eMeals a try and you need help with meal planning, this is really a great way to get started! Whether you need help with breakfast, lunch, or dinner ideas and no matter what kind of foods you like to eat, there will probably be a plan that fits you and your family.
I’m so glad I gave eMeals a try! And so is my family.
