Out of all the meals of the day, breakfast might be the hardest for me. Between grabbing a few minutes on the treadmill and taking care of the dog to getting out the door to work, I can’t seem to squeak out the time for a sit-down breakfast every morning. (I can’t even imagine how you folks with kiddos do it.)
But that’s where smoothies come in. I can prep the strawberries the night before, toss it all in the blender the next morning, and I’m out the door in less time than it would take for my bread to toast.
This recipe, from our Breakfast plan, is an easy one—with only four ingredients! Substitute Greek yogurt, add a mixture of fruit if you want, or keep it simple. Either way, it’s a fast, simple, and oh-so-good way to start the day.
- 2 cups low-fat strawberry yogurt
- 1 cup sliced fresh strawberries
- 1 cup crushed or cubed ice
- 1 cup 1% low-fat milk
- Combine yogurt, strawberries, ice and milk in a blender
- Cover and process until smooth
- Divide among 4 glasses
