Mother’s Day Chocolate Squares

Perhaps you’re looking for something to make for mom or a sweet friend or family member of yours who is a mom? We’ve got just the ticket for something that is super easy and flakey and delicious. And as goes without saying it’s chocolatey, so what’s not to love?! Whip up a batch of these super easy chocolate bars and watch in delight as the recipient lights up!

Ingredients:

Crust:

2 sticks of unsalted butter
1 cup of sugar
2 cups of flour

Chocolate Mixture:

6 squares of Baking Semi-Sweet Chocolate
1 can of sweet condensed milk
1 tsp. vanilla
1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions:

Mix butter first, then add sugar and mix and then flour (slowly add flour in). Mix on slow speed to make shortbread crust. Spread in pan and save a little for the topping. In small sauce pan on low, melt 6 Semi-Sweet baking chocolate squares. Once melted, add 1 can of sweet condensed milk, blend and remove. Add 1 tsp of vanilla and add 1/2 cup of chopped pecans. Spread mixture to shortbread crust right away. Add remaining shortbread on top in little pieces. Bake for 35 minutes on 350 degrees. When done, take butterknife along the edges so after it cools it will not be difficult to remove. Let it cool completely before cutting and serving.
