Christmas is not complete at my mother-in-law’s (M-I-L) house unless we have the customary white chocolate party mix. However, still pretending as though we’re “kids”, we call it reindeer food and still expect Santa to fill our stocking. That’s not a problem, right?
It’s a good addition to the many desserts that line the buffet because it’s got a little crunch and it is just a tad different than everything else. Maybe I just like it because ever since I was little, white chocolate has been my favorite. Regardless, this would make a great addition to your family’s food repertoire.
Reindeer Food (or more commonly known as white chocolate party mix)
1 lb white chocolate
3 c rice chex
3 c corn chex
3 c Cheerios®
2 c pretzel sticks
2 c dry roasted peanuts
12 oz pkg M&M’s®
Slowly melt white chocolate in top of double boiler over simmering water or melt in microwave according to package directions. Combine cereal, pretzels, peanuts, and M&M’s® in large bowl. Slowly pour chocolate over mixture on wax paper and cool. Break into small pieces.
